Case Studies
Case study: Paul
36 year old male opiate addict. Long history of relapse and treatment failure. Paul entered the drug rehab program, where he was given a brain map and treated with the neuro-development program, psychotherapy, an AA recovery program, group therapy and was randomly drug tested throughout his treatment.
Paul’s map results revealed that his memory systems were impaired, his cognitive abilities were impaired, and he had extremely poor impulse control. Paul worked the program for 5 months in inpatient treatment then stepped down to sober living for 10 months where he was randomly drug tested.
As a result of the work Paul did in the neuro-development program he was able to resolve his memory and cognition problems as well as his poor impulse control over his behavior. Paul was able to improve his cognitive abilities by at least 45 percent over all. Paul to date is 15 months sober and is working a strong recovery program.
20 year old male given a diagnosis of drug addiction and schizophrenia. Jerry spent 6 months in a drug rehab center, where he was treated with psychotherapy, psycho pharmacological medications, and an AA recovery program. Jerry was referred for a Brain map, neuro-development program, psychotherapy, sober living, and AA recovery.
Jerry’s map revealed that the diagnosis of Schizophrenia was incorrect. What was uncovered was that Jerry’s memory systems were impaired, had developmental delays, poor impulse control, and severe learning problems.
The focus of Jerry’s treatment program for the next 13 months was the neuro-development, psychotherapy, AA recovery program, and sober living with random drug testing. Jerry had a goal of being able to attend college.
After 13 months of the program Jerry was able to build a sober network of support, His cognition has since improved by 44 percent, and his developmental and learning problems have been resolved. Jerry has met his goal in college, he is an “A” student. He has now been sober for two years.
